APnotMAs 2025

Inspired by the defunct APMAs, the APnotMAs are the anthesis of award shows, awarding bands with titles that fans actually care about.

Taking on the APnotMAs was a beheamoth of a project and involved over 255 assets. However it was one of the best and most rewarding moments as a designer, and a fan of the previous APnotMAs. What previously was just a social media livestream, was turned into a production, with informational graphics for every step of the awards phase.

For Your Consideration flyers were created, and passed around as a way for fans to petition for votes for their favourite band (or scandal). The most notable repost came from a My Chemical Romance Facebook page, that apparently helped sway a few awards in the band’s favor.

In addition to the FYC flyers, fan ballot templates were created for both instagram stories and twitter pages.

When it came time to start promoting the actual award show, special edition presenter flyers were created for the presenters (and fans) to reshare and drum up hype for the youtube livestream.

Here are the fan-voted winners for 2025. In addition to the pool of assets made for the APnotMAs, there were 4 or 5 visual directions tried out before landing on the geometric red-light aesthetic for the show, as well as multiple font, color, and logo explorations to find the right fit for the award’s visual direction.
